This is an open question to consolidate a better understanding of the Frax ecosystem for future proposers who are looking to contribute and be a value add to the community.
Does Frax need an ecosystem lead? If so, why? If not, why?
What would be the role and responsibilities of an Ecosystem Lead at Frax?
What are the qualifications to ensure any candidate qualifies? ie, is it 3 years of business development? In what market specifically? Do they need to have an online presence, or not? Do they need to be English-native? Bilingual? etc.
Based on the role/responsibilities, and qualification, what would a competitive compensation package be to attract top tier talent for the ecosystem?
Will they have support, ie marketing support, collateral, travel budget (conferences, etc)? If so, what would it be? Any other benefits?
This is a genuine an open question to best define what Ecosystem Lead is at Frax to pin for future consideration.
We already have a BD team if that is what you’re referring to. These are the types of jobs that the team would internally manage, not something that would/should come from the outside.
Were these positions in place before or after Defi Daves proposal was submitted? Just curious. Or were they the byproduct of that funding?
Separately, what is the framework that divides external vs internal positions? Ie Wasn’t community management position funded by the community and an external position? (Would appreciate some insight on this for a better understanding as I simply dont have context on the latter particularly)
Reiterating this is a genuine question - trying to better understand the Frax ecosystem vs Frax internal organization.
What constitutes what type of job is internal vs external? Is it clearly defined?
There isn’t one. Probably based on common sense of what’s already being done. Internal team would know best on this.
I believe I’m the first person hired externally to the team.
It is not clearly defined. I’m here every day so I kind of understand what roles are filled versus needed. I saw an opportunity where certain duties were not being fulfilled to the standard I thought was necessary and therefore created a position for myself.
Heisenberg probably saw a similar opportunity but unfortunately miscalculated the political cache necessary to get away with such demands.
This is really helpful ser, thank you for the insight.
I think participating in any ecosystem provides an edge to finding opportunities and filling the gaps where need be, especially if your skillsets/experience aligns with that.
From your perspective, do you think political cache is a requirement to be a participant in an ecosystem for hiring? This is more of a philosophical question.
Another way of asking the same question - let’s say someone has considerable merit, and new to Frax, but their experience warrants significant contribution to (x problem to solve for) to open up a position. However, they do not have the political cache.
How can a defi ecosystem with permissionless values align with ‘political cache necessary to get away with such demands’?
Another example; let’s say it’s a technical eng with 15 years scaling a FinTech startup with multiple exits and warrants $500k/salary. But they align on vision - how does a permissionless org for governance / grants tap into who qualifies that person who submits a request such as that?
It’s an open question bc I think it’s important as a framework for scaling things and making it easier for talent to participate based on merit without political cache necssary.
I dont know if it’s the right framework or not, so curious about your thoughts.
